Abstract from a conference
Several immunization experiments performed in guinea pigs, pogeons and horses with non-toxic filtrates of young cultures of Welchia (Clostridium) perfringens type A tend to show that the 'bursting factor' reported in 1946 is a specific antigen which might be of use for the prevention of gas gangrene in man.
