Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) data and RADARSAT-2 C-band radar acquisitions combined with available literature and field data are used to generate a hydrogeological numerical model and assist in understanding the Spiritwood buried valley groundwater flow system (Figure 1A), located in southwestern Manitoba, Canada. Airborne AEM is used to better understand the 3D Geology of the Spiritwood valley and RADARSAT-2 data is used to give insight into the temporal variations in the soil moisture of the study area. We use this information as input into a recharge model, which assists in understanding the overall groundwater flow dynamics of the buried valley.
