Attempts of standardization presently made by WHO are discussed. The author also gives data on methods on which he has been experimenting since 1932, especially viability counts and their variations, animal allergic and protection tests as used for comparing different vaccines or daughter strains, and finally comparative results obtained in humans in Canada.
